IKO NAKAMURA EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS


On June 1, 2024, the 2nd IKO Nakamura European Championships took place in Białystok, Poland, with the participation of nearly 500 competitors from around 90 clubs from Poland and abroad, including 24 OYAMA Polish Karate Federation associations. Oyama Karate representatives won 39 medals, including 10 gold, 15 silver and 14 bronze. CONGRATULATIONS, OSU!  

The OYAMA PFK delegation was led by Hanshi Jan Dyduch, 9th dan. The championships were organised by Sport Club Karate Białystok, headed by the national representative of IKO Nakamura in Poland, Shihan Piotr Sawicki, 6th dan. The guests of honor included Dhayo Masanaga Nakamura, 8th dan, and Marek Piotrowski, multiple-time professional world champion in Kickboxing. The head referee was Shihan Zbigniew Goliński, 5th dan. In the morning, the Kata competition in the Kyokushin style was held on four mats, followed by Kumite duels in the afternoon. Competitors from Poland, Ukraine and Germany dominated the fighting competitions. The championships showcased a high level of athletic performance.
